These Trochus or tower shells have been mostly stripped of their protective outer layering to reveal the beautiful mother-of-pearl beneath. They have been further cut with a laser to show their natural spiral pattern. 
 
Trochus shells are also sometimes called Top Snails, Top shells, or Turban shells. The gastropod that forms these shells is a ravenous algae eater and is considered ideal for marine ecosystems, both natural and those in labs or aquariums.
 
Like the Turbo, the Trochus shell grows outward in a spiral and symbolises personal transformation and growth. The Trochus also has the properties of its animal conveyed into it and is useful in finding clarity, truth, and clear waters.
